MedTOWN project virtual Launching Conference
5th of October 2020 | 10.00-12.00 CET

MedTOWN project online Training of Trainers
5th-9th & 12th-15th of October 2020

The conference intends to be a high level event fostering dialogue about social services and public policies in the Mediterranean with relevant actors, counting with representatives from the institutional associated partners from different countries, and participants from key projects and organizations. With this in mind, it will consist of two panels with short speeches (5 minutes each) and open discussion:

The first panel will be a high level political forum with institutional representatives from public policy and international/national organisations in the field of SSE and the provision of social services.

The second session will focus on relevant initiatives and projects in the Mediterranean that can work together on improving the knowledge and capacities of SSE actors in social inclusion and integration.

Registration for the conference is free and participation is open to anyone who requests it.

After a coffee break, the kick-off webinar of the capacity building will start, introducing the Training of Trainers and Community of Practice.

The training of trainers’ first week is open to relevant people, so team members from organizations or projects related who are interested in learning and discussing topics related to co-production, social innovation and solidarity economy, are welcome to follow the course (requests will be considered until available capacity is reached)*.

The stimulating journey around the Mediterranean that this training will provide makes it an excellent opportunity to learn interactively and exchange knowledge on ways to develop co-production initiatives using local currencies, and to receive a facilitation guide to uplift, enhance skills and expand community-building abilities and a toolkit on the use of technology for local currencies.

The Community of Practice (CoP) is the main tool for communication between people in the project, even more during the current COVID19 health crisis and as long as physical meetings are considered dangerous for public health and safety. It will be a space for inspiration, mutual e-learning and interactions on social innovation in the co-production of social services, and a vehicle for policy dialogue with critical reflections among professionals in the public social sector, local policy, citizenship and research in the SSE sector.

It will be the reference point for action research and development of policy recommendations, while linking with other CoPs in the field of sustainable communities and eco-social innovation.
